THE UNHEALTHY SEED
The good future you seek to see in your life and the lives of your children starts from the words spoken today.
It is the expectation of every farmer that the healthy seeds planted in the soil would sprout, produce edible and desirable fruits, and bring out leaves.
As long as he or she continues to do all the things required to be a good farmer, such as watering the seeds, either culturally or mechanically, weeding out unwanted plants that could threaten the growth of the seeds as they start to grow out, and applying fertilizers and chemicals to further amplify the growth and produce, no farmer plants without believing that they will receive a compensating large amount of produce.
To have great and healthy produce, a farmer needs to be prepared to do all of these things and more. If these and other things are not done, the seeds will die before they are ready to bear fruit.
You will agree with me that the tendency to get good produce highly depends on the state of the seeds sown. A good seed produces healthy fruits while a bad seed is bound to create ill fruits. This is because unhealthy seeds sown are susceptible to disease which can then be transmitted to the fruits.
Now, this is it, your words are seeds sown into the soil (lives). You as a farmer must be careful in the kind of seed you sow. Whether you sow a healthy or unhealthy seed, the fruits that come out from such seed will show what kind of seed you planted.
You can not get anything other than what you’ve sown. When you sow excellent seeds, be sure to get nice fruits and when you sow poor seeds, be rest assured that you will get the nasty and unhealthy fruits that come from what you’ve sowed.
God has given you the ability to speak, but only to give life to situations that would otherwise be dead, to structure your life and the lives of others, and to bring things into being that are not yet there. If you misuse this language by bringing negativity into your life and the lives of others, you will be undervaluing yourself.
A poorly controlled tongue that consistently makes false confessions will undoubtedly get the rewards of all such confessions. You will undoubtedly get your share of false admissions, even if it takes months or years.
A 22-year-old young guy was reported to have left a note after taking his own life. The note said, “Mum, you are the cause of my death.” As it occurred, the young guy had been verbally abused since he was ten years old, following the death of his father. His mother, the only relative he had at the time, constantly criticizes him, particularly when she receives a performance report from the school. “Paying for your education is a waste; you will never be better than this. Education is not for you; it would be better if you went and learned a profession or talent. After struggling academically and eventually dropping out of school, the lad finally bulged and acknowledged his mother’s correctness. Despite beginning to develop a skill, he never felt satisfied. He was trapped by his fear of failing and embarrassing his family, even if he liked returning to school. At the mechanic workshop, he sobbed through the night, hoping that someone would come up to him and tell him something different from what he had been hearing his mother say. One day he resolved to end it all because he was overwhelmed.
He committed suicide which I considered a foolish decision, but then, the seeds the mother planted or was daily planting, caused him to develop a low self-esteem and saw nothing good about his life. At this juncture, the devil made him make a wrong decision — ending his life.
In conclusion, words spoken are seeds and every seed planted or sown into the soil grows and produces fruits. Whether good or bad seeds, you will surely reap the fruits of it, and from the fruits produced, the nature of the seed planted will be known.
The good future you seek to see in your life and the lives of your children starts from the words spoken today. Just as unhealthy seeds sown into the soil germinate poorly, reduce crop yields, produce weak seedlings, and increase disease susceptibility, so also wrong words cause one’s life to grow slowly, reduce the progress that comes to your life, and attract stagnancy and retrogression into your life and that of others. So, be careful not to sow unhealthy seeds.
