Identity Crisis

Read Time:1 Minute, 17 Second

On this fateful day, I experienced what I would like to call an “Identity Crisis”. I just finished my evening prayers and was about to retire to bed.

Suddenly, it felt like I was worn a cloth that wasn’t mine- A cloth of sadness. My failures, flaws and weaknesses were staring down at me and negative thoughts of how nothing good will come out of my life flashed through my mind. I started to cry really hot tears and I remember saying “God my future seems bleak, nothing really works out for me”.

Negative imaginations kept flashing through my mind until I paused to ask myself “Where are these thoughts coming from? These thoughts are not God’s thoughts concerning me. I immediately cancelled those thoughts and confessed God’s words concerning me. I went back to my journal to remind myself of words God had spoken over me.

So, you may be tired, worn out and confused about your future. Nothing seems to work out for you and it is hard not to see yourself in the light of your failures and weaknesses.

This is your reminder that you are not forsaken. There is still hope for you in Jesus, A Living Hope. Rest in God’s love for you. He holds the pen and paper. Allow Him write a beautiful story of your life.

“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” 1John4:4 NIV
