KEEPING THE FIRST THING FIRST: LESSONS FROM MARY AND MARTHA

The story of Mary and Martha serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of keeping the first thing first in our lives. By prioritizing our relationship with God, we can avoid a victim mentality, take responsibility for our choices, and find fulfillment in aligning our actions with His will. Let us learn from Mary’s example and make intentional efforts to sit at Jesus’ feet, allowing His teachings to guide our lives.

JOY TO THE WORLD

Celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ is more than a Christian holiday or a Christian festival. It is an opportunity to pause and give thanks for the love, hope, and joy found in Jesus – our Saviour and friend. As we exchange gifts with loved ones, it is out of remembrance of the gift God gave us in Jesus. The gift is that we are loved, are never alone, and can have hope for the future.

WHAT ARE YOU GRATEFUL FOR?

Showing gratitude has benefits or advantages both to the person showing appreciation and the person receiving it. Gratitude improves the well-being of the giver and the recipient. Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, lower levels of depression, and build strong relationships. It allows people (the receiver) to feel that they are needed and that their efforts are valued.

Conquering Defeat through Christ Jesus

Faith plays a crucial role in conquering defeat. Through Christ Jesus, we find strength, comfort, and guidance. His teachings and example reminds us of the power within us to overcome challenges. By placing our trust in Him, we can experience a deep sense of peace, knowing that we are not alone in our struggles. Faith allows us to surrender our burdens to God and find solace in His unconditional love and grace.
