FORGIVE ME GOD; I WONT DO THIS AGAIN
Running away from the presence of God will not stop you from going back to your vomit another day.
We all have been there….or may be not? Locked up in your closet; so red-handed that you ask the ‘WHY’ questions and count your ‘NOT AGAINS!’ For the umpteenth time, you have gone back to the very act you told God that you will not be caught doing. Now because of this, you run away from your fellowship with God.
You say to yourself:
“I am just like a filthy rag. If I feel this way about myself already, then how will God view me? Even Adam and Eve ran away from the presence of God after eating the forbidden fruit, who am I to walk boldly into the presence of God?”
But this exactly is where you are getting it all wrong! I know you feel terrible after whatever act it is you have committed and you do not feel worthy to fellowship with God, pray or read your bible. But guess what?? God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him (JOHN 3: 17).
This period, where you have fallen and you feel like there should be a barricade between you and God should be the time you are closest to God. Why? Running away from the presence of God will not stop you from going back to your vomit another day. The only thing it does is to give the devil his exact wish, which is the opposite of God’s will.
God sent his son, Jesus Christ to die for you because he knew you were going to battle those habits. So you should come to the realization that once you have received the gift of salvation, you have the life of Christ and even though you have returned to your vomit, you work with the consciousness that God in the inside of you is bigger than that habit. The battle had already been won several years ago on the cross.
It is the devils wish that you do not fellowship with GOD. It is his wish that you do not get exposed to the reality of who you are in Christ. It is wish that you do not realize that the moment Christ came to die for you on that cross; you had overcome the world including the trials and temptations that might come your way. These trials and temptations show forth as addictions and sins and you must do everything within your capacity not to get the wish of the devil done.
Explained below are things you should do in place of shying away from God when you fall:
- Keep on feeding your spirit: Your preoccupation should be on building the spirit and not defeating the flesh. Therein lays your victory (Galatians 5 vs 16-17). When the devil realizes that no matter what you do, you will keep running back to God, he will get frustrated.
- Do all you can to starve the flesh: Guard your heart with all diligence. If you have to avoid certain things and people, do so.
Practice: Start from the little things; put structures in place to help you starve your flesh. Even when you fall once in a while, don’t stay down, stand up and go again.
BONUS TIP: YOU MIGHT WANT TO STAY ON THE BOOK OF ROMANS IN THE BIBLE.
THE BATTLE IS WON! HALLELUJAH!
