I MATTER YOU MATTER

I matter. You matter. My words matter. Your words matter. My thoughts matter. Your thoughts matter. My actions matter. Your actions matter, too.

I matter. You matter. Believe it or not, the naysayers matter too. We each have a purpose. My purpose is different from your purpose. Your purpose is different from mine. The naysayers have a purpose too. The good part is that we can decide the purpose of the naysayers in our lives. The naysayers’ purpose can either deter us from achieving goals, or fuel us to work even harder at achieving our goals. The naysayers’ purpose should always be the latter for us. I matter. You matter.

In fact, Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” We are the handiwork of God. We are far too important to count ourselves out. We cannot afford to sell ourselves short. We are children of God, and we have been endowed with a special gift.

The gift is comprised of seeds placed inside of us by God. They are not just any kind of seeds, but seeds of greatness. We have to nurture and cultivate the seeds so that they can grow and help us blossom into the person God has designed us to be. We are great by design, but our purpose makes us even greater. Our purpose is tied to those seeds that lie within us. Our purpose is not just for us. It is for others too. We are designed to be helpers to one to another. Our purpose has value that cannot be properly measured by man. When we realize this, we realize that we matter. I matter. You matter, too.

My words matter. Your words matter too. The words that we speak do have power. In fact, Proverbs 18:21 tells us “death and life are in the power of the tongue…” Often times, we find ourselves speaking kind words over someone else. We use our words to pour positively into others. We speak life into others. We miss the mark. However, when it comes to speaking kind words over ourselves, we do not always use our words to sow positively in our own lives. We say mean things to ourselves or about ourselves. We speak defeat and even death, at times. When we speak negatively over ourselves, the words of the naysayers have a stronghold over us. Because we matter, we have to break free from negative words. We must speak power, peace, and prosperity. We must speak empowering words, and we must also receive them from others. Because we matter, we speak life and not death over ourselves as well as others. We must always remember that our words matter. My words matter. Yours matter too.

My thoughts matter. Your thoughts matter too. Proverbs 23:7 states, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.” What we think about ourselves shape who we are or who we will become. In other words, we become what we think. We should be mindful of our thoughts. We should ask ourselves: “Do you like the direction your thoughts are taking you?” If not, we must change the thoughts. We have to move beyond what people, namely the naysayers, think about us or our purpose. We have to think good thoughts about ourselves. Because we matter, we keep our thoughts positive. When we keep our thoughts positive, we keep moving in the right direction. Our thoughts matter.  My thoughts matter.  Your thoughts matter too.

My actions matter. Your actions matter too. According to 2 Corinthians 5:20, we are ambassadors of Christ. Since we are representatives of Christ, our actions should attest to this very fact. Our behavior reflects what is in our heart. We should ask ourselves, “What is in my heart? Does my action reflect kindness and love? Am I being an ambassador of Christ?” Our hearts should show kindness and love.

Our actions should also reflect kindness and love. How we treat ourselves matter. How we treat others matter, too.   Our actions matter.    My actions matter. Your actions matter too.
